Thank you for writing this. I live in Canada and I admit I sometimes take it for granted that we have universal healthcare and we like to complain about all the imperfections of our system, but I have never had to worry about whether or not my family would receive medical care when needed and whether I could afford it. I am fortunate to be born here, and I really do wish that the US would have the same healthcare rights as we do. I wish you all the best for your family, your words are inspirational.

Wow, Kari. I RARELY comment on anything on the net, but this certainly deserves it. Sometimes, I find it difficult to articulate the message that you so clearly and ARTICULATELY did! It's amazing the negative connotation that typically follows the word, Medicaid. So many are caught in the middle--make too much to qualify--make too little to make ends meet. Those are the folks I see every day in my pharmacy. Thanks for keeping it real. I love to read your writing.
